Every second Wednesday of the new month, I will publish a roundup that gathers the most prominent news related to Star Wars toys and merchandise, from figures to fashion. My goal is to catch you up to speed and bring to you whatever you might have missed the previous month. I know what it’s like to fall behind, so my roundups here at Star Wars Report will be your reliable source to make sure you’re on the same page as everyone else.

First up, February 14-17 is going to be a big weekend in New York City with the NY Toy Fair in town. Stay tuned for reports and updates here at Star Wars Report, since I will be attending the event as a member of press. New Fashion Items Inspired By Star Wars

her-universe-imperial-love-hoodieAshley Eckstein’s Her Universe recently added a new item to the Star Wars clothing collection. The Imperial Love Hoodie is both soft and comfortable. According to its description, “This top has more of a uni-sex fit. If you want this top to be fitted, go down one size. If you want it a bit loose, order your regular size.” As with any article of clothing, make sure to measure yourself properly and follow the sizing chart in order avoid mistakes. The Imperial Love Hoodie is priced at $40.00, and for a limited time, get the light side/dark side Hoodie Bundle for $65.

New Toy Announcements and Updates

hasbro-star-wars-hero-mashers“Hasbro saw enough success with their IP-connected Hero Masher lines that they’ll be introducing toys from this year’s hottest films and franchises,” wrote Forbes in an exclusive article back in January.

“[They’ll be] adding Jurassic World and Star Wars: Rebels to the Hero Mashers universe as well as expanding the Marvel Heroes with Mashers from Disney’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

Toy-Wars-Holographic-exclusive-Emperor-Funko-Pop-VinylToy Wars announced in late January that they will be selling an exclusive Holographic Emperor Palpatine Pop! Vinyl Bobble Head. It measures around 3 3/4 inches and it glows in the dark.

“A cool recreation of a character that has become a symbol of evil and deception in pop culture, this figure makes a great collectible for Star Wars fans.”

kotobukiyaAs a Star Wars Celebration Anaheim exclusive, Kotobukiya announced the ARTFX+ R3-A2 & K-3PO statues.

“R3-A2 stands nearly 4 inches tall in 1/10th scale, includes alternate pieces allowing for display standing upright on two legs or inclined on all three, and comes with a special collector’s coin featuring the logo of Industrial Automation, the manufacturers of Astromech Droids. K-3PO stands over six inches tall, his white metal casing showing damage from a previous engagement. Both Droids feature magnets in their feet for extra stability on the included base, and assemble in seconds with the ARTFX+ line’s easy, snap-fit assembly.”

Read more about the announcement and pre-ordering it over at Kotobukiya’s Facebook.

revoltech-six-inch-boba-fettRevoltech revealed a 6-inch Boba Fett at Japan’s Winter Wonder Festival. Their figures have a wide range of motion and stability, allowing toy owners to create various dynamic poses.

FLYGUY brings us this latest report, “Whilst these are unpainted, they could just as well be a blue shot protoype and white prototype Boba Fett. (Maybe expect that as a future release!) 5400 YEN is approx $46 USD so a fair price when compared to the recent Revoltech releases.”

Last month, Dorkside Toys added Star Wars Revo 4-inch Japanese R2-D2 action figure and 6-inch Imperial Stormtrooper action figure as pre-orders.

tomica-star-warsAccording to RocketNews24, “Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy has just released four brand spanking new toys from the Star Wars universe. Hoping to get collectors in the mood, these four iconic spaceships might just whet your appetite for more Star Wars goodies come Episode VII.”

The Tomica Star Wars series includes an Imperial Star Destroyer, Imperial TIE Fighter, Rebel Alliance X-wing Fighter, and Millennium Falcon. (via Yodasnews.com)

new-pocket-sandwich-shapers-from-kotobukiyaKotobukiya adds new pocket sandwich shapers, featuring Darth Vader, R2-D2, and a stormtrooper. The product also includes stencil plates for decoration.

“Use these unique kits to make pouch-style sandwiches with the familiar designs stamped into the bread, or cut off the edges and make Star Wars shaped snacks.”

rebels-saga-legendsJedi Temple Archives recently received new images for the figures included in the Saga Legends/Rebels line.

New figures include SL25 Commander Bly, SL26 Han Solo (Endor), SL27 Luke Skywalker (Endor) and SL28 Princess Leia (Endor). The images also include Hera Syndulla, a highly anticipated figure, especially given her lack of presence in other Star Wars Rebels merchandise. (via Yakface.com)

Other News Items And Information Of Interest

Rebels-poster-2Hasbro recently released a downloadable two-sided poster with Star Wars Rebels Saga Legends, Mission Series, Hero Series, and other content (via Jedi Temple Archives). The poster was first seen at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, so it’s a shame that most of the figures haven’t appeared on the shelves, like Sabine and Hera. As previously mentioned in a past roundup, the reason for the lack of merchandise is port congestion on the west coast.

Kenner-Figures-PosterJedi Temple Archives also shared a full size digital poster of Kenner Star Wars Action Figures for the collectors looking to own a copy.

SlaveAhsoka01As a result of Hasbro’s lack of attention to characters from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars era, Star Wars fan Ben C. created a custom figure of Ahsoka Tano in her slave outfit from the Slaves of the Republic arc. I’m surprised Hasbro didn’t take advantage of the design when the figures were more popular.

Visit the Rebelscum forum to see how Bent went about making the figure.
