Geek.com has just reported a plaque on Kylo Ren’s Lightsaber from Disneyland’s “Hyperpsace Mountain” which identifies the blade as being based on an ancient design, and its smaller blades on the bottom of the saber are identified as “quillons.” It would appear that they might not be used like a cross guard for protection, but instead as exhaust ports to vent the raw energy of the blade.

He loves all things philosophy (Cogito ergo sum!), politics (De Toqueville and Machiavelli!), and poetry (Mathew Arnold and T.S. Eliot for the win!). He is also an anglophile. Len’s worldview is colored by many things in his life: He’s a devout Catholic and holds his beliefs high, as well as believing that morality and personal responsibility are paramount.
