Press Release: Dragon Con Announces Official 2016 Literary and Artist Guests of Honor

Author Jim Butcher and Artist Stephan Martiniere to Be Recognized at Awards Banquet

Dragon Con, Atlanta’s internationally known pop culture, fantasy and sci-fi convention, has selected Dresden Files author Jim Butcher and fantasy artist Stephan Martiniere as its 2016 Guests of Honor.

Dragon Con, which held its first convention in 1987, has honored an author and an artist Guest of Honor in each of the convention’s 30 years.

Both Guests of Honor are widely renowned in their respective fields and recognized as endlessly creative individuals. They will be recognized at the Guests of Honor Awards Banquet on Saturday, Sept. 3.

“We are delighted to recognize Jim and Stephan for their significant contributions to science fiction and literature,” convention co-chair Rachel Reeves said. “Over the course of their impressive careers, Jim and Stephan have made tremendous contributions to the worlds of science fiction and fantasy art and literature.”

Jim Butcher, author of The Dresden Files

Jim Butcher is best known as the author of The Dresden Files book series, including 16 novels, a collection of short stories, graphic novel adaptations, a television series starring Paul Blackthorne, and a role-playing game. Stephan Martiniere, fantasy and science fiction artist

Stephan Martiniere is an internationally acclaimed science fiction and fantasy artist. Over a 25-year career, his work has been seen in feature films, animation, video games, theme parks, editorial, commercial, books, comic books and book covers.
