Join Johnathan, Berent, Nathan, and guest Shawn as they discuss the episode. Were the cameos used well? What does the team think of Zeb now that he has actually gotten some characterization? Where might this all be leading? All this and more in this episode of Rebels Roundtable.

Spark of Rebellion (or Riff-Raff, Street Rat) – Rebels Roundtable #1

Play

Star Wars: Rebels begins! We take a look at the premiere “film,” Spark of Rebellion.

rebelsroundtable2

The Star Wars Report’s Rebels Roundtable has been gearing up for the launch of Rebels for about a year now, whether on social media like Facebook and Twitter or in podcast form during our coverage of The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions and our series of Data Burst and mini-interview episodes with the team. Needless to say, we were all excited to be introduced to the crew of the Ghost when Spark of Rebellion finally arrived.

Join Johnathan, Jen, Berent, and Nathan as they discuss the premiere. Did the “film” (er, double-length episode) live up to our expectations? Is Ezra really a thinly-veiled Aladdin rip-off? Did they really just name the capital city of Lothal “Capital City?” All this and things that actually matter in this episode, as Rebels Roundtable finally covers what it was born to cover: Rebels.

Yoda Arc (or the Final RFRN) – RR Prelude #4

Play

Yoda goes on a spectacular(ly confusing) adventure in this episode.

rebelsroundtable2

The transition from Republic Forces Radio Network to The Star Wars Report’s Rebels Roundtable concludes in this episode, which marks not just the end of our coverage of The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions (Season 6), but also the final episode to be simul-released as an episode of Republic Forces Radio Network . In this episode, the team takes on the “Yoda Arc,” consisting of The Lost One, Voices, Destiny, and Sacrifice.

(That’s right, Ahsoka. This is all you get to do now that you left. See what you’re missing?)

Of course, with this being the final episode under the RFRN banner, we wanted to do something special this time around. Thus, rather than the usual four panelists, this episode brings all six of the panelists who have made the jump over to The Star Wars Report’s Rebels Roundtable: Johnathan (the host); Jen; Dan; Nathan; Berent; and (for his first time ever on the panel to discuss actual episodes) Mark Hurliman of Star Wars Beyond the Films and The Star Wars Report. We are also visited by the two RFRN regulars who are not making the jump to the new show, show founder Arnie and former host Jerry, as they stop by to bid a fond farewell to the rest of the team and the RFRN audience. It is an episode for the history books . . . if ever such books were written about Star Wars podcasting, that is.

Welcome to the Rebels Roundtable prelude and the bonus episodes of Republic Forces Radio Network. Thank you for joining us as the RFRN team is born anew for a new era of Star Wars cartoons.

Jar Jar Arc (or Jar Jar Has a Girlfriend) – RR Prelude #3

Play

Jar Jar and Mace Windu search for The Disappeared in this episode.

rebelsroundtable2

The transition from Republic Forces Radio Network to The Star Wars Report’s Rebels Roundtable continues. Jar Jar has always been a bit of a joke (okay, more than a bit) in Star Wars, used for slapstick and dopey comic relief, mixed with a few rare acts that have truly mattered. But what if Jar Jar were taken seriously by a writer and tossed into an Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom style of adventure? It was a question probably no one ever asked . . . yet we received the answer anyway in the form of The Disappeared, Parts 1 and 2In this episode, Johnathan, Jen, Jerry, and Nathan take on this two-part tale.

(He was apparently tired of those mothersithin’ cultists on that mothersithin’ moon.)
