In line with today’s changing technology games like Star Wars: Battlefront and No Man’s Sky can now be purchased with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a truly decentralized and democratic currency that is becoming more widely accepted worldwide and is not tied to any one government or country so it is not influenced by the same changes that affect normal currency.

Bitcoins are currently making big waves in iGaming, among other sectors, and several online casinos are now accepting bitcoins. In fact, some casinos, like BitCasino io use bitcoins exclusively in their wide range of slots and table games. There’s no denying that more and more businesses and retail outlets now accepting bitcoins, even down to going out for a meal in a restaurant of going for a coffee in a way very similar to the Galactic Credit Standard found in the Star Wars universe. It is very likely that in the future newly released games as well as other products will be purchasable with bitcoins too. For example the online platform Steam accepts bitcoins as well as more traditional forms of payment.

One of 2017s most eagerly anticipated Star Wars gaming release is Star Wars: Battlefront 2 – due for general release on November 17 and when it is released on platforms like Steam and sites like jjgames.com it will be purchasable with bitcoin too. The beta release is October 6 for those who want to get in on the action early with pre-order access from October 4. EA has already tweeted a trailer and more recently a live stream on August 21. Battlefront 2 will have a greater single-player element than its predecessors which were more multi-player focused. The single-player campaign follows Iden Versio, a female soldier serving the Galactic Empire in the time leading up to the events of The Force Awakens. There will be segment s where the player will be able to play as either Kylo Ren or the Fabled Luke Skywalker. It is worth signing up for the free EA account to get access to the free DLC which includes playable characters from each of the 3 trilogies so far including Han Solo, Yoda, Boba Fett, Rey, Finn, Captain Phasma and the unforgettable Darth Maul. It doesn’t end there though. July 25 saw the release of a prequel novel Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad Which follows Iden’s squad from after the events of Rogue One leading up to the events that will play out in Battlefront 2.
